Malaysia Visa — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything Indian travellers need to know about the Malaysia eVisa, eNTRI, MDAC and visa-free entry.

General & Eligibility

Indian passport holders currently enjoy visa-free entry to Malaysia for tourism, business and transit for stays of up to 30 days, under a visa exemption valid until 31 December 2026. You must still complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before arrival. For stays longer than 30 days or other travel purposes, a Malaysia eVisa or eNTRI is required — and our team helps with both.

Yes. Indian nationals can travel to Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days under a visa exemption that runs until 31 December 2026. The only mandatory step is completing the MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) before you arrive.

Indian travellers can stay up to 30 days per visit under the current visa-free arrangement. If you need to stay longer or travel for purposes beyond tourism, business or transit, you should apply for a Malaysia eVisa.

The Malaysia eVisa is available to nationals of several countries including India, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Serbia and Montenegro. Citizens of 130+ other countries can enter visa-free. Not sure about your country? Contact our experts and we'll confirm your eligibility.

Malaysia does not offer a general visa on arrival for Indian tourists. Instead, Indian nationals can currently travel visa-free for up to 30 days, or apply for a Malaysia eVisa or eNTRI online in advance for other trips. Always arrange your entry document and MDAC before you fly.

Yes. Every traveller, including infants and children, needs their own valid passport and entry status (visa-free, eVisa or eNTRI) as well as an individual MDAC. We can prepare applications for your whole family together.

It's not recommended. Immigration usually requires a confirmed return or onward ticket as proof that you'll leave within the permitted stay. Travelling on a one-way ticket can lead to questioning or refused entry.
Malaysia eVisa & eNTRI

The Malaysia eVisa is a multi-purpose electronic visa that allows a stay of up to 30 days, while eNTRI (Electronic Travel Registration & Information) is a quicker, single-entry option for short tourist visits of up to 15 days for eligible nationalities such as India and China. Our experts will recommend the right one based on your trip.

A Malaysia tourist eVisa is an electronic visa for leisure travel — sightseeing, holidays, honeymoons or visiting friends and family. It is issued online, allows a stay of up to 30 days, and is available as single or multiple entry.

Yes, the Malaysia eVisa is available as a multiple-entry visa for eligible travellers, which is useful if you plan to enter Malaysia more than once during the visa's validity. The eNTRI, however, is single-entry only.

The eNTRI is non-extendable and non-convertible. The standard Malaysia eVisa generally cannot be extended either — if you need a longer stay, you should apply for the appropriate visa before you travel. Contact us and we'll advise on the best option.

The total cost depends on your visa type (eVisa or eNTRI), nationality and processing option. You'll always see the full, transparent fee — including the government charge and our service fee — before you pay anything. Contact us for an exact quote for your trip.

No. The Malaysia tourist eVisa and eNTRI are strictly for tourism, leisure, transit or short business visits. Paid employment requires a proper work permit or employment pass arranged through a Malaysian employer.

Yes. We can process Malaysia eVisa or eNTRI applications for families and groups together. Each traveller needs their own passport, photo and MDAC, and we keep everyone's application coordinated for the same travel dates.
Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is a mandatory online form that every traveller must submit within 3 days before arriving in Malaysia. It captures your passport, travel and accommodation details. We can complete and submit your MDAC accurately so you avoid delays at immigration.

Yes. The MDAC is mandatory for almost all travellers, including Indian nationals entering Malaysia visa-free. It must be submitted before you arrive, regardless of whether you hold a visa.

You should submit the MDAC within 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival in Malaysia. Submitting it too early or too late can cause issues, so timing matters — we handle this for you to keep it correct.

No. The MDAC is an arrival declaration card, not a visa. Even if you are visa-free or hold a valid eVisa, you must still complete the MDAC before travelling.

The MDAC itself is a government arrival form. If you'd like us to complete and submit it correctly on your behalf — so there are no errors or delays at immigration — a small service fee applies, shown upfront.

Travellers who haven't submitted the MDAC can face delays, additional checks, or problems at the Malaysian border. To avoid any issues, complete the MDAC within 3 days before arrival — or let us handle it for you.

Limited changes (such as flight details) may be possible before arrival, but key passport information generally cannot be changed once submitted. That's why accurate first-time submission matters — our team double-checks every detail.
Documents & Requirements

You'll need a passport valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport-size photo, confirmed return flight tickets, hotel booking or travel itinerary, proof of sufficient funds, and a completed MDAC before arrival. We check every document so your Malaysia visa application is right the first time.

A recent colour passport-size photo (about 35 mm × 50 mm) with a plain white background, in JPEG format and usually under 100 KB, taken within the last 6 months with your full face clearly visible.

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Malaysia and should have at least two blank pages for stamps.

Yes. A confirmed return or onward ticket and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or address of stay) are typically required to show the purpose and duration of your visit.

In many cases yes. A recent bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover your stay may be requested to demonstrate you can support yourself during the trip. We'll tell you exactly what's needed for your application.

Travel insurance is not mandatory for most visitors to Malaysia, but it is strongly recommended to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations and lost baggage during your visit.

Yes. A clear, full-page colour scan or photo of your passport bio-data page is exactly what's needed — there's no need to courier or submit your physical passport. The whole process is online.
Processing, Fees & Validity

Most Malaysia eVisa and eNTRI applications are processed within 3 to 5 working days once all documents are submitted correctly. Processing time can vary with visa type, nationality and document completeness — we review everything before submission to keep it fast.

The Malaysia eVisa is generally valid for entry within 90 days of issue and permits a stay of up to 30 days. The eNTRI allows a single entry with a stay of up to 15 days. Validity can vary, so always check your visa details.

We recommend applying at least 7 days before your travel date. This allows time for document verification and any follow-up, so your Malaysia visa is ready well before you fly.

Our experts review every application before submission to reduce the risk of rejection. In the rare event your application is not accepted for processing, our refund policy applies — please see our terms for details.

Once you apply through us, we keep you updated by email at every stage and you can contact our team anytime for a status update. Your approved eVisa or eNTRI is emailed to you as soon as it's issued.

For most applicants the standard processing time is 3–5 working days. If you're travelling soon, contact us — depending on your visa type and nationality, we'll do our best to prioritise and fast-track your application.

Government visa fees are generally non-refundable once an application is submitted. Our service fee is covered by our refund policy in specific cases — please review our terms for full details before applying.
